For nine decades, the Sutherland Pipe Band has been a cornerstone of the New England Scottish community. From our first rehearsals in 1936 to performing on two continents, we have remained dedicated to the chilling drones, sharp snares, and unmistakable spirit of the Highland bagpipe.
We are a Grade 5 EUSPBA band that prides itself on being an inclusive organization, welcoming pipers and drummers of all backgrounds and skill levels.
What We Do: We provide a powerful soundtrack for parades, memorials, weddings and private milestones.
Appearances: Look for us at events like Tartan Army marches, St. Patrick’s Day parades in Methuen and Abington, Memorial Day parade in Holliston, 4th of July parade in Edgartown, community events in Boston area.
Where We Play: Serving all of Southeastern New England, including Boston, MetroWest, and the South Shore.
On June 14, our pipers proudly joined a massed pipe corps to help march thousands of celebrating Scotland soccer fans through the streets of Boston to Fenway Park.
Learn to Play: No experience? No problem. We offer top-tier instruction for bagpipes and drums (snare, tenor, and bass) using a sliding fee scale to ensure music is accessible to everyone.
Visit a Rehearsal: We meet most Thursdays from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the Natick Sons of Italy hall (37 Washington Ave, Natick, MA).
